Tapestry Weaving Plein Air with Doris Florig

Both experienced and beginner weavers are invited to learn and share design and technical skills while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bayland Preserve. While choosing fibers hand dyed by tapestry artist Doris Florig, you will capture the effects of weather and light which are otherwise difficult to produce in a studio.

DATES

  • August Session: Saturday August 23rd from 12:00pm to 4:00pm AND Sunday the 24th from 10:00am to 2:00pm

This workshop will be held over both Saturday and Sunday at the Batlands Nature Preserve located at 2500 Embarcadero Road Palo Alto, CA 94303.

In the early 70’s Doris began a lifelong quest seeking out peoples with a cultural history of textile arts. Through travel, teaching, and exhibiting, her weaving art and skills have evolved like our changing environment.
