  • San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles 520 South 1st Street San Jose, CA, 95113 (map)

Join us for a vibrant and creative workshop where you’ll explore the beauty of Armenian artist Martiros Saryan’s iconic “Lotus Flower” painting. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this session is designed to spark your imagination and guide you through the process of recreating this stunning floral masterpiece using oil pastels and fabric.

The workshop will begin with a brief introduction to Saryan’s life and artistic influence, followed by a fun, hands-on painting experience. You’ll learn different techniques and experiment with fabric as a medium to add texture and depth to your artwork.

With step-by-step guidance and a focus on creating a relaxed, enjoyable environment, you’ll leave the workshop with your own version of the lotus flower and newfound skills to continue your artistic journey.

All materials will be provided. No prior painting experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
