Create wonderful, textural and unique fiber art baskets!!
In this in-person workshop students will wrap an array of fabric, fancy yarns and colorful strings around a cotton core, and then create any shape of basket desired, including handles or other extending shapes. We'll decorate the basket with tassels and other fiber-made ornamentation. No weaving or art experience is necessary to take this workshop, or to make fabulous baskets. Perfect for beginning through advanced artists. All supplies and materials will be provided, and you're very welcome to bring any fiber (clothing, fabric, yarn, etc.) you may like to use in your piece.
This is an all-day workshop; there will be a recess for lunch but students who may want to work through recess are encouraged to bring a packed lunch. There are restaurants within a short walking distance of the Museum to purchase lunch otherwise.
