SAVE OUR MUSEUM - GIVE TO OUR EMERGENCY APPEAL

Our Museum is in a very perilous financial position and we need your help. We must raise $300,000 by June 30 to continue operating.  Of that, we need to bring in $100,000 as soon as possible.

Please be our Champion, and make a gift today to SAVE THE MUSEUM.

The Museum will host a Community Meeting on Thursday, May 9th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm to answer your questions and brainstorm solutions. We hope that you will join us for this meeting as you are our community and we value your input. RSVP to the Community Meeting here.

The mission of the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles is to preserve, celebrate, and promote knowledge about quilts and textiles, their creation, their beauty, and their relationship to human culture and expression.

Upcoming Events at the Museum

Public Opening Reception | Thursday, May 2nd 6pm to 7pm

Printed & Stitched presents works from members of the California Society of Printmakers and Studio Art Quilt Associates that celebrate the techniques of quilting and hand-pulled printing. Throughout history, textile and print have been a common pair with textile artists incorporating printed elements into their work and printmakers referencing stitching. Though these techniques and media may seem different on the surface, there is common ground in woven layers, color, texture, and methods of storytelling. Juried by award-winning artist, Christine S. Aaron, this exhibition features 58 works by artists from California and Nevada that explore the connection between printing and stitching.
