Mixed Media Weaving on a Simple Loom with Vicki Assegued

  • San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles 520 South 1st Street San Jose, CA, 95113 (map)

In this in-person workshop, students will learn many techniques and stitches to create exciting and unique mixed media weavings, on a simple loom. You'll use yarn, fabric, and various fun embellishments to create a textured, unique and lively piece. You’ll also learn to make special tassels and fringe to add on to the body and edges of your weaving. No weaving or art experience is necessary to take this workshop, or to make fabulous pieces of art. Perfect for beginning through advanced artists. All supplies and materials will be provided, but feel welcome to bring any fiber you may like to use in your piece.

This is an all-day workshop; there will be a recess for lunch but students who may want to work through recess are encouraged to bring a packed lunch. There are restaurants within a short walking distance of the Museum to purchase lunch otherwise.
